Finding funding for speech pathology can feel overwhelming, but there are several options available to help cover costs. Here’s a guide to make the process easier.

Funding Options
National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS)
📞 Phone: 1800 800 110🌐 Website: NDIS Website
The NDIS provides funding support for individuals with disabilities, including children needing speech pathology services. Under this scheme, your child will receive a personalized plan tailored to their circumstances and support needs. This is one of the most effective ways to access fully funded government support.
Early Childhood Approach
For children under 6 years old with developmental delays or children under 9 with disabilities, the Early Childhood Approach helps families access the right support when needed.
💡 Key points:
No formal diagnosis is required for children under 6 if there are developmental concerns.
Provides early intervention to support your child’s development.

Medicare
Peter habit Therapy Co. are registered Medicare providers. Your GP may be able to assist you in accessing rebated Speech Pathology sessions through a Team Care Arrangement or a Chronic Disease Management Plan. Ask for this when visiting your GP.
This allows for approximately five rebated Speech Pathology sessions per calendar year.
Currently, the Medicare rebate for these sessions is approximately $40 per session. Additionally, there is a Medicare follow-up service available for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander patients.
